Education & Experience
After completing a dual degree in Music Performance and Spanish from the University of North Texas, Daniel felt the Lord call him to begin giving up the things that he held most dearly and to change his life’s pursuit drastically. In 2015, Daniel completed his MA in Music Therapy and became a board certified Music Therapist in the same year.
Music Therapy has been a helpful tool in Daniel’s practice in Hospice care, as well as working with adolescents in detention centers, emergency shelters and center’s for abused children. Daniel served shortly as a Social Worker in Austin, assisting families experiencing homelessness, until the Lord again called him to sacrifice for a new season. Daniel now practices Biblical Counseling and has a heart to serve missionaries who have counted the great cost of giving up things they hold dearly to follow the Lord’s calling in their lives, all for their joy and God’s glory.
Interests & Specialties
Daniel has spent many years serving and attending Recovery Ministries through The Village Church Denton and The Austin Stone. He has experience serving and helping men with substance use, sexual addictions and through journeys of suffering.
Daniel also has experience serving men and women through grief of loved ones, addictions, abuse, crisis, suicide, homelessness, family issues, cultural issues, shame, fear, anxiety, loss and depression. He also has provided care for families and adolescents. Above all, he enjoys seeing the Lord move to bring a great light, even among the darkest moments, to the stories of God’s beloved children.
Daniel loves exploring Austin, eating and cooking great food, reading, writing and getting outside as much as he can. Playing drums has been a constant part of Daniel’s story. Community is also a huge part of his life, and he enjoys going with his community to share the Gospel here in the city he loves.
