Workshop One: Anxiety Defined

Presenter: Jessie Wells, LCSW

This two hour workshop will be a brief overview of anxiety and how it impacts our body, relationships, and our walk with God. Participants will be guided through discussions on obsessive thinking, the critical voice we often hear internally, as well as anxiety and the imagination. Participants will explore mindfulness, and workbook and journaling based activities, that support our battle against anxious thoughts.

Workshop Two: Anxiety, Culture, and God’s Design

Presenter: Jessie Wells, LCSW

In this session we will explore the cultural, environmental, and physical elements that align us with God’s design for us. We’ll explore how it is often helpful to first address anxiety from a physical standpoint and how our nervous system can come into better alignment with the plan that God has for us. We will guide you through somatic and body based mindfulness strategies to calm your mind and body. Participants will be provided with tools to identify and shift your body’s state to be able to interact in a more connected way with those around you, and do the things that you are created to do.

Workshop Three: Anxiety and Safety

Presenters: Dan Allen, MA, MT-BC and Jessie Wells, LCSW

In this session we will discuss how anxiety is the opposite of “felt safety” and how this impacts our life. We will guide you through various sensory and experiential based modalities to engage the mind, body, and spirit. Dan Allen, MA, MT-BC will explore how music can be used to engage the heart, and experience calm. Participants will leave with tools and tips to combat the physical experience of anxiety from a whole new perspective.
