Education & Experience
Jason graduated from Texas A&M University in 2010 with a B.A. in Communication. He spent the following year studying at the Resurgence Training Center in Seattle, Washington, while interning at Mars Hill Church. It was there that his interest in counseling began; through counseling and discipleship, the truth of the gospel and the hope that comes from having a heavenly Father sank in to his heart. After spending the following two years working as a director for Habitat for Humanity, him and his wife moved to Austin so Jason could pursue pastoral training with a focus on counseling. Jason also works with the South Campus leadership team for the Stone. He will be with the Austin Stone for two years to complete his Pastoral Residency program.
Interests & Specialties
Jason is interested in counseling as a form of discipleship and pastoral ministry. He values the Stone’s view of counseling as an integral part of ministering to God’s people, instead of only as a last resort. Jason is mostly studying and learning about counseling, but is available for lay counseling sessions depending on the circumstances.
