Education & Experience
Laura earned a BA in Dance with a Minor in Psychology from Belhaven University in Jackson, MS. She then completed her MA in Mental Health Counseling with a Specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.
Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) under the supervision of Shanda Anderson, LPC-S and a registered Dance/Movement Therapist receiving Board-Certification supervision from Shannon Gauthier, MA, LMHC, BC-DMT, CMA.
Interests & Specialties
Laura has experience counseling in the following areas: crisis counseling for those having experienced acute trauma, diagnosable disorders including schizophrenia, bi-polar and adjustment disorder, as well as serving individuals on forensic units within the state hospital system. Laura has worked with various ages including children (6-15), adults (18-40), and older adults (70+). She utilizes tools both from general talk therapy as well as dance/movement therapy in order to best support the individuals she serves.
