Education and Experience
Sam earned a BA in Psychology in 2012 from Texas State University and will be graduating from St. Edward’s University with a MA in Counseling and a dual license as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2017. He completed training in biblical counseling through the Austin Stone’s Equipped to Counsel Course in Spring of 2016 and found that the contrast between his secular counseling classes has solidified his beliefs in biblical-based counseling. He has previous experience as a volunteer with the ministry CRU and worked in campus ministry at the University of Alaska for a year upon graduation. Currently, Sam will be completing his LPC/LMFT practicum with the Austin Stone Counseling Center.
Sam is a Graduate Student Intern and is under the supervision of Dr. Jon Bergeron, PhD.

He believes that learning to live in the truth of the gospel from moment to moment is where true healing and restoration occur. Sam has been married to Jessica for 3 years. The two met on a CRU summer project in Alaska, where they both lived and did ministry with True North Church.
